Project description

The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), with the support of PPMI and Bill Lucas, is conducting a study on Creativity for Lifelong Learning with the objective to provide a comprehensive overview of existing concepts and practices for the development of creativity as a transversal skill (or set of skills) for lifelong learning. The study covers compulsory education, vocational education and training, higher education and non-formal learning. It compares and contrasts existing concepts, definitions and frameworks of creativity and digs into practice. Its goal is to inform the understanding of creativity as a transversal framework to key competences and key competence frameworks such as the DigComp, DigCompEdu, DigCompOrg, EntreComp and LifeComp. The study is expected to produce by October 2020 an extensive review of academic and grey literature; an inventory of existing initiatives and in-depth analysis of at least eight case studies; a final report summarising research findings on the development of creativity as a transversal skill for lifelong learning.
